If for nothing else, 2017 will be remembered as the year that the news media went #All-In on reporting stories about the retail apocalypse, self-driving cars and drone delivery services. Have we over-estimated the affect that new technology will have in the short term or have we under-estimated the long-term impact? Join Douglas A. Welton for a balanced discussion of those new hardware and software technologies and a look at how that will change the built environment and urban design.

About Douglas

Douglas A. Welton is the Chief Product Officer at einstein's legacy, a Charlotte-based software joint that creates Macintosh applications for handling images, video and quartz compositions. He has been a frequent speaker at Skookum, presenting more than a half-dozen talks over the last five years covering topics such as building accessible software, data visualization and generative art. Apart from his interest in computer science, Douglas is president of one of Charlotte's largest neighborhood organizations and next year he will be a part of the Stitch Together CLT Program that will focus on developing the next generation of community leadership. In his spare time, Douglas uses his odd sense of humor to make the world a better place.
